Former student Kieran Clarke returned to the school to speak to students in the VI Department about being at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) in Hereford and all his sporting and personal achievements since leaving St Paul’s.
Kieran recently captained RNC’s Blind Football team, and led the team to win the FA Disability Cup for the second year running. He said: “We were a bit worried before the match because we had an understrength team with a lot of players from both teams out for the Euros. We were a bit apprehensive on how the game was going to go but we trained hard and kept to our tactics and luckily it just fell into place.”
In addition to Blind Football, Kieran is an accomplished practitioner in Judo and Mixed Martial Arts.
Mrs Lucie Gray, Head of VI Department at St Paul’s, said: “It was so lovely to meet Kieran again. Our students were all inspired and motivated by his talk and his positive attitude. He is a fantastic role model.”
