Black History Month Competition

Nadia and Isabella's painting

Nadia and Isabella's poem

A competition was held to mark Black History Month. The theme of the month was ‘Action, not words – using our knowledge of history to make changes for the future’.

Students were asked to create something that celebrates and draws attention to the diverse cultures and identities of our St Paul’s Community.

This could be a piece of artwork, a dramatic piece, a song, a poem, a model or anything else that students thought of! Some wonderful entries were received and we are delighted to say that first joint prize went to Nadia Partyka and Isabella Oxley from Year 7 Angela for their beautiful painting and poem (pictured above), and second prize went to Morenike Ogunleye from Year 9 Kolbe for her wonderful PowerPoint presentation. The first and second prize winners received tokens for our book vending machines.

We also had some  excellent entries from Kashni Karan in Year 7 More, Kacper Janiszek in Year 8 Elizabeth, Michael Osuji in Year 7 More and Sofia Aldridge in Year 7 More.

Well done to all the students who entered.
