St Paul's DofE Team Attend Gold Award Celebration

St Paul's team at Buckingham Palace

Mrs Berry and Mrs Gouldsbrough from St Paul's Duke of Edinburgh team, along with former students Cat and Emma, attended a Gold Award celebration event at Buckingham Palace on Friday 19th May.

The event was one of the first His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh has hosted as the charity's patron. The Duke congratulated attendees in a speech from the Palace's West Terrace and met with Award holders to learn more about the positive impact their DofE has had on them.

Former England Lioness, Jill Scott MBE, also attended and gave a speech.

Mrs Gouldsbrough, who leads on DofE at St Paul's, said "It was a proud day for everyone in the St Paul's team."

Every young person who achieves their Gold Award  is invited to attend a Gold Award event as a proper celebration of their outstanding achievements. The Buckingham Palace Garden is transformed for the events into a festival-style celebration for young people and their loved ones, with giant deckchairs, bunting and garden games and activities. Attendees have the chance to hear from famous DofE Award holders, sporting legends and international adventurers, and pick up career advice from actors, presenters, authors and entrepreneurs, at stages throughout the Garden.
