Exploring Law Careers At Lawfest

Students talk to law firms

A small group of Year 12 students who are interested in a law career were invited to attend the annual LawFest at the University of Buckingham.

Students got some real-life insight from a range of guest speakers within the law industry and took park in three sessions throughout the event. Students had an introductory speech from the Head of Law at the University, and guest speakers from law firms across the country spoke to students about what their future in law might hold.

Travers Smith LLP delivered an interactive session on the application process and ways into the law industry, alongside how to sell yourself and recognising your communication style. Students then listened to a ‘day-in-the-life’ talk from lawyers representing Milton Keynes City Council and Machins Solicitors LLP with Q&A sessions.

Finally, our students were invited to explore the various law firm stands that were set up with the amazing opportunity to discuss law career paths with real-life solicitors and lawyers!

Thank you to the University of Buckingham for this wonderful event. Our students found the sessions informative and inspiring!
