Pre-loved Prom Clothes Appeal
Prom night can be one of the biggest and happiest occasions of a student’s life but, at a time when so many are impacted by the cost of living crisis, some might be worried about being able to afford a new outfit or are looking for a more sustainable option.
We’d really like to do something to help and are calling on our wonderful St Paul’s community to see if we can come together to help students by donating prom or special occasion clothes that you no longer use.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to help someone attend their prom in a beautiful dress or suit?
What We Hope To Do
We want to set up a bank of clothes that students can hire for their prom and other formal occasions. Not only will this be a cost friendly option, it’s also a sustainable one as it gives a new life to something already made and only worn once.
How You Can Help
Please take a look in your wardrobes and see if you have any good condition new or pre-loved prom or special occasion attire including dresses, suits, shirts and trousers that you would like to donate. We need all styles and sizes for all genders! We are also looking for evening shoes, bags, jewellery and accessories (no earrings please for hygiene reasons). Please drop your donations in to school for the attention of Miss Clark.
When Do We Need The Clothes?
Our Year 11 Prom is on 1st July so, if you have any clothes to donate, we’d love to have them as soon as possible.
How Will It Work?
Once we have a bank of clothes, students will be able to hire them for a nominal fee to cover cleaning etc. We can give you more details when we have been able to assess what donations we have.
Thank you.
