Year 12 Visit Trinity College Oxford
Mr Selwood and Mrs Albone had the pleasure of taking a group of our most able Year 12 students to Trinity College Oxford. The students had a very informative talk about making applications to competitive universities and a very open and honest question and answer session with four current undergraduates who then took us on a tour of the college in the beautiful sunshine. We were given an absolutely delicious lunch and were then joined on the college lawn by a former student of St Paul’s, Issie Richardson, who is currently studying Languages at New College Oxford. She talked about her experiences of Year 13 and the application process and her time at Oxford.
Our day ended with an incredibly interesting interactive talk by Ashley Castelino who is undertaking DPhil research on animals in Medieval Literature. We learnt so many fascinating things (including the origins of the Bluetooth symbol) and were left intrigued by how many drawing of lions don’t really look like lions! He told us to look at #notalion. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and students at Trinity and to Issie for making it such an inspirational day.
