Celebrating A Level and Vocational Results

St Paul’s Catholic School is delighted to report some excellent achievements by its students in their A levels and vocational qualifications this summer. Students are going on to study a range of subjects leading to careers in areas including Interior Design, Computer Science, Biomedical Science, Psychology and Counselling, Automotive Engineering, Children’s Nursing, Social Work, Medicine and Human Resources.

Jo-Anne Hoarty, Headteacher at St Paul’s, said: “Students have worked incredibly hard to achieve such fantastic results. It is important to remember that these results represent seven years hard work. Our students have worked very hard to secure excellent grades that will enable them to move to their next steps.”

Esther Butt, who received As in Psychology and Drama and Theatre, B in English Language and Literature and A* in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and is going to study Psychology at York.  

Scarla-Chenai Chabvuta, who achieved Distinction Distinction in the BTEC Diploma in Applied Science, a Merit in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Principles & Applications of Science and D in Psychology and will be studying Biomedical Science at Oxford Brookes University.

Niamh Chamberlain, who gained A* in Sociology, A in Fine Art and B in Religious Studies. Niamh is going to Nottingham Trent University to study Sociology with Criminology.

Miriam Fraser, who has gained A*s in the EPQ, Italian and Biology and A in Chemistry. Miriam is going to study Biology at St John’s College, Oxford.  

Ian Gitau, who is going to the University of Leicester or Nottingham to study Computer Science having gained As in Mathematics and Chemistry and B in Further Mathematics.

Samiha Haque who has gained As in Chemistry and Biology and B in Mathematics       and is going to study Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Nottingham.

Oskar Hawes who has achieved As in Politics, Psychology and the EPQ and a B in English Language and Literature. Oskar is going to study Law at the University of York.

Ella Heritage who has gained A* in the EPQ and Bs in Psychology, Religious Studies and Product Design and is going to the University of Leeds to study Criminology.

Ageesh Kurunchikumaran who has achieved A* in the EPQ, A in Mathematics and Bs in Chemistry and Physics. Ageesh will be studying Physics at the University of York.

Edwardina Macnack who has gained Distinction Distinction in the BTEC Diploma in Business and a Pass in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Information Technology. Edwardina is going to De Montfort University to study Human Resources Management.

Sophie McSorley who has achieved As in History and Mathematics and B in Design Engineering. Sophie will be taking a gap year.

Michael Moimana-Shima who has gained Distinction Distinction in the BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care, Merit in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care and B in Business. Michael will be studying Sport & Education at the University of Derby.

Martina Oricchio who has achieved Distinction Distinction in the BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care, Merit in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care, C in Portuguese and D in English Literature. Martina hopes to go to the University of Nottingham to study Psychology.

Kirshan Pavananthan who has gained As in the EPQ and Design Engineering, B in Mathematics and C in Physics. Kirshan is going to Loughborough University to study Automotive Engineering.

Elisa Scarito who has achieved A* in the EPQ, A in Business, B in Psychology and C in Sociology. She is going to Birmingham City University to study Psychology and Counselling.

Rhea Sisodiya who has gained Cs in Psychology, the EPQ and Fine Art and a Distinction* in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care. Rhea will be studying Interior Design at De Montfort University.

William Thomas who has achieved A*s in Mathematics and Physics and A in Further Mathematics and is going to study Engineering at the University of Cambridge.

Christine Viegas who has gained As in Photography and Fine Art and C in Business and will be studying Human Resources Management at Aston University.

Noah Wheatley who has achieved A* in the EPQ and As in Sociology, English Language and Literature and Drama and Theatre. Noah will be attending Lancaster University to study English Literature and Creative Writing.

Aya Alessandra Yagoli who has gained A in Italian, D in Poliics, Distinction Distinction in the BTEC Diploma in Applied Science and Pass in the BTEC Extended Certificate in Principles & Application of Science. Aya is going to De Montfort University to study Biomedical Science.

Sandra Yeboah who has achieved As in Psychology, the EPQ and Biology and B in Chemistry and is going to the University of Birmingham to study Medicine.

Luca Zeolla who has gained As in Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science and is going to the University of Leeds to study Computer Science.

Jo-Anne Hoarty said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.
