Donations Delivered To Local Charity
Our Student Leaders visited the MK Storehouse to drop off the school’s donations for the local charity. Shoes, clothes, coats, and suitcases were all donated from children and staff here at St Paul’s, and these will go to people in need in the Milton Keynes community. The charity’s administrator, Rachel, was overwhelmed with the amount of bags and suitcases! She told the children that they brought over two weeks worth of donations that they usually receive. Rachel also told the students that they are helping many people who have had to leave their homes in emergency situations.
The students were very pleased to be able to assist the local community and to see the work that MK Storehouse is doing. The charity has helped over 550 people in the first quarter of this year and even reunited a child from the Ukraine with a pair of roller skates. Students are living the ethos of our Catholic School theme of Human Dignity so giving the donations to the MK Storehouse really embodies this idea. It was really valuable for the students to not only take the lead on collecting the donations, but also to see it through and drop it off to the MK Storehouse themselves so they could see how exactly they are making a difference. Students wanted to know what else they can do and are thinking about volunteering or doing some work experience with MK Storehouse in the future. Ms Markatos is very proud of all the Student Leaders and Student Council members who put the time, effort, and love into making this event such a success. Students really did ‘love, serve, and do the best that is possible’ as St. Paul calls us to do!
