Are you a former student and would you be interested in supporting the development of current and future learners within the school?
We want to enrich our community by bringing together our past and present students through a St Paul’s alumni and supporters network. As part of this network you can keep in touch with classmates, network with other alumni and make new connections. It also lets you stay in touch with what’s happening at your old school. In turn, you can help us by sharing your valuable experience and knowledge with our current students, helping them make the move towards higher education, training or careers.
The first step is to add your details to our alumni database by emailing alumniandsupporters@st-pauls.org.uk. We can then tailor the activities and events that would work best for you and our students.
If you were willing to give up a little of your time, some of the ways you could be involved are:
- delivering career specific information during our 'Work Related Learning' activity days offering practice interviews to Post 16 students in preparation for apprenticeships/work.
- speaking to a year group/targeted group about your own journey from school to your current employment.
- working with small groups of learners to help them recognise the value of their current education.
- supporting Year 11/Post 16 students in identifying their next steps.
Or do you have an idea of your own that you could bring to inspire young people in their journey to higher education, apprenticeships or employment?
Upcoming Alumni Activities - Can You Help?
We have a number of upcoming alumni activities that would really benefit from your involvement. They are:
Get That Apprenticeship - February 12th 2025
This event aims to help Year 13 students to find out about apprenticeship opportunities locally, learn how to apply for them and go through the interview process. There are three sessions:
- Session one - meeting with pupils to discuss apprenticeships
- Session two - learning how to complete an application form and shortlisting
- Session three - being interviewed for a position
We are looking for alumni with an apprenticeship background to help with all of the day or just part of the day.
National Careers Week - March 3rd - 7th 2025
During Careers Week we would like to offer 'sector sessions' to pupils in Years 11 - 13. In small groups, you would chat to students about your sector, job roles available, qualifications needed etc. The session would be approximately one hour and we would try and organise them around your availability.
Careers Fair - May 21st 2025
The May Careers Fair is from 9am - 3pm and is for Year 10, invited Year 11, Sixth Form, SEND and EAL students.
Exhibitors are able to have a stand and it's a great opportunity for you to talk to our students about your job and your company.
