Head Of Design And Technology (TMS/UPS+TLR1D)
To lead a successful team which achieves excellent results at KS4 and KS5. The person appointed will lead the development of the department and the curriculum as well as being an excellent teacher with the skills and energy to help pupils achieve the best that is possible.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a large, very well resourced, and thriving D&T department for those existing or aspiring middle leaders who wish to lead and enhance a dynamic team with a strong culture of professional learning and development.
Design and Technology is valued highly at St Paul’s and is taught to all students through to year 11. More recently the department has been awarded ambassador status by the OCR exam board. Teacher Of Design & Technology (TMS/UPS) ECTs Welcome

The Governors at St. Paul’s Catholic School have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Teacher of Design and Technology. The person appointed will be an excellent teacher able to teach a number of D&T subjects at KS3, and Product Design/Engineering to GCSE level. They will enthuse pupils with a love of the subject. The ability or aspiration to teach A Level would be desirable.
The Design and Technology department at St Paul’s is a key, thriving and growing area of our school. It boasts a wide range of resources, including state-of-the-art equipment and machinery. We are proud to have a dedicated 3D printing suite, frequently used in student projects from KS3 to KS5, enabling students to bring their innovative ideas to life.
Our experienced and enthusiastic team of teachers is committed to delivering excellence in Design and Technology education. We are thrilled to share that we have recently become an OCR Ambassador Centre, a testament to our ongoing collaboration with exam boards and our excellence in delivering D&T qualifications.
Our department is supported by two superb technicians and housed in two fully equipped D&T blocks with spacious classrooms and storage spaces, providing an ideal environment for both teaching and learning.
At St Paul’s Design and Technology is a core subject for all students from Year 7 to Year 11, reflecting its importance in our unique curriculum model. Students love Design and Technology and see the value of the subject and its impact on their lives. We believe in sharing best practices and have a strong history of working with other schools to promote excellence in Design and Technology education.
We frequently attend Design and Technology forums held by the Design and Technology Association and exam boards, ensuring we have a voice in the positive movement forward of D&T and its delivery in schools.
